Role: Senior SRE / Cloud Engineer Backup & Cyber Recovery

Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid (3 days/week) Must Locals

Rate: $60/hr on C2C/1099 Max

Key Requirements

• 7+ years in Infrastructure, Backup Engineering, or SRE.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure/Google Cloud Platform, Linux, VMware, Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Hands-on enterprise backup technologies: Cohesity, Dell PowerProtect/Data Domain/Cyber Recovery, Rubrik, Commvault, NetBackup, Veeam.
• Expertise in cyber recovery, ransomware protection, immutable backups, air-gapped vaults, IREs, clean rooms, and recovery orchestration.
• Strong Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash, GitHub/GitHub Actions skills.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace/ELK.
• Knowledge of IAM, MFA, encryption, Zero Trust, NIST/CIS.
• Experience defining SLOs/SLIs, RPO/RTO, RCA, automation, and resilience testing.
• Financial services/GSIB and regulatory experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
