Intermediate Security Control Assessor

Blu Omega is seeking a Intermediate Security Control Assessor to support the FDIC program. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of IT systems' security/privacy controls in accordance with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Responsibilities
- Execute all phases of cybersecurity and privacy control assessment support
- Review and develop key authorization artifacts such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)
- Support clients in identifying security risks and ensuring system compliance with applicable policies and frameworks
- Coordinate with stakeholders to communicate assessment findings and remediation strategies
Required Qualifications
- 4-6 years of relevant cybersecurity experience supporting federal clients
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal cybersecurity governance frameworks, including RMF, FedRAMP, and NIST SP 800-53 and SP 800-171
- Experience developing and reviewing security artifacts such as SSPs, SARs, and POA&Ms
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles such as confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and risk management
- Hands-on experience with technical security tools and defense systems
- Knowledge of access, architecture, and infrastructure security controls
- Experience applying frameworks like RMF and FedRAMP to ensure compliance and mitigate vulnerabilities
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
Compensation
Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $120,100.00
Final compensation based on skills, experience, and clearance level
