The Leidos Partnership for Defense Health is seeking an
OCI DevOps Engineer to work remotely in support of its single-award DHMSM IDIQ contract, for the system known as MHS GENESIS. This highly visible program modernized Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities for the Department of War (DoW), supporting nearly 10 million service members and their families worldwide. While healthcare systems everywhere are challenged to improve quality, user experience, and cost, MHS GENESIS operates at DoW global scale and within a highly secure environment, all while supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA)'s vision of a medically ready force-critical to our national defense.
As an
OCI DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying and managing networking segments, virtual machines, and associated block storage using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services such as Resource Manager, Compute, Virtual Cloud Network, Block Volumes, and others. You will work closely with our application engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and continuous delivery of our software products. Your expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud environments will be crucial in automating and optimizing our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible, OCI Resource Manager.
- Develop and maintain IaC scripts to automate the provisioning, configuration, and deployment of cloud environments.
- Provision and secure micro-segmented virtual cloud networks in "hub and spoke" topologies.
- Deploy and manage virtual machines, applications, and databases in OCI using services like Compute and Block Storage.
- Secure application traffic flow using OCI Security Lists and Network Security Groups (NSG).
- Secure access to cloud objects using OCI compartments and Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies.
- Collaborate with application engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud infrastructure with application development and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Monitor and manage operating systems within the OCI environment.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and IaC scripts.
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.
- Ensure security and compliance standards are met across all deployments.
REQUIRED Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- with an ACTIVE ADP1/IT1 Public Trust (or higher) clearance and completed Tier 5 background investigation. Contract requirement.
- Proven experience in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD methodologies.
- Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code and configuration management.
- Experience deploying and managing operating systems in a cloud environment.
- Strong knowledge and administration skills of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- General familiarity with virtual cloud networking concepts and topologies specifically "hub and spoke" networks.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Github or OCI DevOps.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to harden systems and cloud environments, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security protocols and reducing vulnerability exposure.
- Designed, deployed, and managed secure cloud infrastructures while adhering to DoD cloud security requirements, including the integration of STIGs for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified or OCI Certified).
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.
