About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Salesforce Release Engineer to join our DevOps team. In this role, Resource will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release lifecycle across multiple Salesforce environments — from development through to production. Resource will work closely with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure that every deployment is reliable, traceable, and delivered on time.
Resource will be a key contributor to our CI/CD strategy, owning the deployment pipeline, managing Copado-based releases, and driving our transition to GitHub Actions as our primary automation platform. Expertise in OmniStudio and OmniChannel component deployments will be critical to the success of our Salesforce platform.

Key Responsibilities
Release Management
• Plan, coordinate, and execute Salesforce deployments across all environments including DEV, QA, UAT, Staging, and Production
• Own and manage the end-to-end release calendar, ensuring releases are tracked, communicated, and delivered on schedule
• Maintain and enforce release gates — validating that all code quality, security, and testing requirements are met before promotion to higher environments
• Coordinate release sign-offs with Tech Leads, Release Managers, and Business Stakeholders
• Maintain a detailed deployment log tracking who deployed, to which environment, and the outcome of every release
Copado Administration & Pipeline Management
• Administer and manage Copado pipelines, user stories, and deployment flows across all Salesforce orgs
• Configure and maintain Copado environment connections, branch management strategies, and release definitions
• Identify and resolve metadata conflicts in Copado before merge and deployment
• Enforce the Copado Source Format Certification requirement for all new users onboarding to the platform
• Monitor and triage Copado deployment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
• Generate Copado reports tracking deployment frequency, success rates, and deployer activity per environment
OmniStudio & OmniChannel Deployment
• Manage the deployment of OmniStudio components including OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, and Integration Procedures across all environments
• Perform and validate OmniScript reactivation post-deployment — identifying when manual activation is required due to LWC recompilation not triggering automatically
• Verify FlexCard activation, dependency resolution, and static resource cache refresh after every deployment
• Manage OmniChannel routing configurations and validate end-to-end OmniChannel flows post-deployment
• Ensure correct namespace handling (vlocity_cmt vs omnistudio unmanaged) across environments
• Coordinate with developers on DataRaptor and Integration Procedure version management
Environment & Org Management
• Manage and maintain all Salesforce sandbox environments across the release path
• Coordinate sandbox refresh schedules and communicate impact to development and QA teams
• Validate environment health post-deployment through smoke testing and monitoring
• Manage permission set groups and access controls across environments, ensuring consistency and compliance
• Maintain environment-specific configuration records and Custom Metadata for feature flag management
Quality, Security & Compliance
• Enforce code quality standards through SonarQube integration in the CI pipeline
• Ensure every deployment passes Check marx security scanning before promotion to higher environments
• Maintain a minimum Apex code coverage threshold of 75% org-wide and 80% per class
• Produce and maintain deployment audit records and release documentation for compliance and audit purposes
• Support rollback planning — identifying reversible vs irreversible metadata changes and documenting rollback procedures per release

Required Skills & Experience
Salesforce Platform
• 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience in an enterprise environment
• Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata types — Apex classes, Triggers, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Profiles, Permission Sets, Custom Objects, and Validation Rules
• Experience managing multi-org Salesforce environments and complex sandbox strategies
• Solid understanding of Salesforce CLI (sf / sfdx) for deployment, validation, and org management
OmniStudio / OmniChannel
• Hands-on experience deploying OmniStudio components — OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, and Integration Procedures
• Understanding of the OmniScript activation lifecycle and the difference between API-based activation and UI-based activation (LWC recompilation)
• Experience with both Vlocity managed package (vlocity_cmt) and unmanaged OmniStudio deployments
• Familiarity with OmniChannel routing, presence configurations, and post-deployment validation
Copado
• 4+ years of experience administering Copado pipelines and managing user stories through the full release lifecycle
• Experience with Copado conflict identification and resolution workflows
• Familiarity with Copado Source Format Certification and its role in the onboarding process
• Ability to generate and interpret Copado deployment reports for audit and governance purposes
GitHub Repository & Version Control Management
• Administer and manage the Salesforce GitHub repository as the single source of truth for all metadata and configuration
• Define, enforce, and maintain the branching strategy across the team — including feature branches, release branches, and hotfix branches
• Review and manage pull requests — ensuring code review standards, branch naming conventions, and merge policies are consistently followed
• Manage branch protection rules, required reviewers, and merge conditions to maintain repository integrity
• Resolve and guide developers through Git merge conflicts — particularly for complex Salesforce metadata such as Profiles, Permission Sets, and Flows
• Maintain a clean and well-structured repository history — enforcing commit message standards, tagging releases, and archiving stale branches
• Set up and manage GitHub repository secrets and environment-specific configuration variables used during deployments
• Coordinate the branch lifecycle from feature branch creation through to production merge and post-release cleanup
• Ensure all deployments are traceable back to a specific commit, pull request, and approved change in GitHub
• Conduct periodic repository audits to identify orphaned branches, unmerged changes, and metadata drift between the repository and live orgs
