We are seeking a Senior Data Modernization Architect / Technical Program Lead to lead a large-scale enterprise data modernization initiative supporting NHTSA. This individual will serve as a hands-on technical leader with strong Data Architecture, Databricks, cloud data engineering, data warehouse modernization, and BI modernization experience, while also providing delivery leadership across multiple technical workstreams.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of IT experience, with significant experience in enterprise data, analytics, cloud, software development, or data modernization.
Strong background in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Modernization, or Cloud Data Platforms.
Hands-on Databricks experience is strongly required.
Demonstrated experience designing or implementing modern cloud data platforms / Lakehouse architectures.

Experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud data platforms.
Experience migrating or modernizing legacy data warehouses, ETL platforms, or BI/reporting environments.
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or comparable BI/reporting technologies.
5+ years working in Agile environments with experience leading technical delivery teams.
Ability to lead multiple technical workstreams and translate between architecture, engineering, business, and executive stakeholders.
Strong technical problem-solving and architecture decision-making skills.
Experience creating technical roadmaps, implementation plans, risks/dependencies, and delivery plans.
Experience managing resources, priorities, schedules, risks, and technical deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
Databricks certification.
PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe, or comparable Agile/project leadership certification.
Experience with Databricks Medallion Architecture and Unity Catalog.
Experience with Delta Lake and cloud-native data engineering.
