job summary:
The candidate will join the DevOps team and support multiple EIT applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing CI/CD pipelines and OpenShift workloads, troubleshooting and resolving failures, onboarding new services, standardizing deployment patterns, automating repetitive tasks, managing vulnerability remediation, and improving application performance and reliability. Occasional weekend deployment support may be required, though this will be the exception rather than the norm.
The primary tools and technologies include Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible, XLR, and OpenShift.
location: Charlotte, North Carolina
job type: Contract
salary: $50.41 - 60.00 per hour
work hours: 9am to 5pm
education: Bachelors
responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is hands-on and technically strong, with experience troubleshooting CI/CD and OpenShift issues, resolving failures, and automating solutions rather than relying on escalation. Deep expertise in every tool is not required, but they should demonstrate strong CI/CD fundamentals, automation experience, and the ability to learn quickly in a complex enterprise environment.
The team operates leanly using Kanban rather than Scrum, with no Scrum Master, Business Analyst, or Product Owner. The candidate must be comfortable working autonomously, taking ownership of tasks, and responding quickly to troubleshooting, support, onboarding, deployment, and other requests. Candidates who rely heavily on structured backlogs or formal Scrum processes to guide their day-to-day work may not be the right fit.
