Senior IT Project Manager – Banking Domain (10+ Years Experience)

A Senior IT Project Manager for a banking client leads complex, multi‑stakeholder technology initiatives across core banking, digital channels, regulatory programs, and enterprise transformation. The role demands strong governance, delivery discipline, and deep understanding of banking operations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end delivery of large-scale IT projects (core banking upgrades, digital modernization, data/analytics, risk & compliance initiatives).
• Establish project governance, RAID logs, communication plans, and stakeholder alignment.
• Manage cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, business SMEs, vendors, and offshore teams.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and vendor management.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations (AML/KYC, PCI, SOX, FFIEC) and internal audit standards.
• Lead requirement workshops, solution reviews, and change management activities.
• Track KPIs, produce executive dashboards, and escalate risks proactively.
• Deliver projects within scope, timeline, and cost while maintaining high-quality outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 5+ years in banking or financial services.
• Strong command of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and hybrid delivery models.
• Proven experience managing budgets of $1M–$10M+ and multi-vendor environments.
• Expertise in banking systems: core banking, payments, lending, digital banking, or regulatory tech.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, CSM, SAFe, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience with cloud migration (Azure/AWS), data modernization, or enterprise integration.
