Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Administrator with 10+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise Linux environments from end to end. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Linux administration, troubleshooting, system upgrades, patching, performance management, security, automation, and infrastructure operations.
The candidate should also have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure, with the ability to manage and support Linux servers across both environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end administration and support of enterprise Linux/Unix environments.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers, including RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu.
- Manage server provisioning, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.
- Perform regular OS patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to OS, CPU, memory, storage, networking, processes, services, and system performance.
- Manage LVM, file systems, NFS, RAID, multipathing, disk management, and storage.
- Configure and troubleshoot Linux services such as DNS, DHCP, SSH, NTP, FTP/SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, and related services.
- Perform system performance monitoring, capacity planning, and tuning.
- Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, sudo access, SSH keys, and security policies.
- Troubleshoot boot issues, kernel issues, filesystem issues, and other critical Linux problems.
- Manage systemd, cron, package management, repositories, and kernel updates.
- Support high-availability and disaster-recovery environments.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Perform root-cause analysis and prepare technical documentation.
- Work with application, database, network, storage, security, and cloud teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support and handle critical production incidents when required.
Azure Responsibilities
- Administer and support Linux virtual machines in Microsoft Azure.
- Provision, configure, resize, and decommission Azure VMs.
- Manage Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, private endpoints, and routing.
- Work with Azure Storage, Managed Disks, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Backup.
- Troubleshoot Linux VM connectivity and performance issues in Azure.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting for Azure Linux workloads.
- Support migration of on-premises Linux servers to Azure.
- Troubleshoot hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and Azure.
- Work with Azure security and identity teams to implement appropriate access controls.
- Participate in cloud infrastructure optimization and cost-management initiatives.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell/Bash.
- Experience with Python and/or Ansible is highly preferred.
- Automate server provisioning, patching, configuration management, health checks, and routine administrative tasks.
- Develop automation to reduce manual operational activities.
On-Premises Infrastructure
- Strong experience supporting enterprise data center environments.
- Administration of physical and virtual Linux servers.
- Experience with VMware/virtualization platforms.
- Work with storage, backup, network, and security teams for infrastructure support.
- Experience with server hardware lifecycle activities, including deployment, migration, upgrade, EOSL remediation, and decommissioning.
- Support data-center migrations and infrastructure transformation projects.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
