General Summary:
Design, document, and develop enterprise-wide systems and/or application software.
Skills and abilities:
Knowledge of Automated Scheduling systems (Apache Airflow a plus)
Experience with large batch scheduling systems (IBM IWS a plus)
Ability to leverage AI/LLM tools to accelerate Python-based DAG development, including code generation, refactoring, and translation of legacy IBM IWS job logic into Airflow task/operator structures.
Skilled in crafting effective prompts to generate and troubleshoot Airflow DAG code, optimize task dependencies, and produce inline documentation and docstrings consistent with development standards.
Experience using AI assisted code review and debugging tools to identify errors, improve DAG performance, and validate Python code quality prior to testing and deployment.
Comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures used in systems/functional analysis and software testing.
Demonstrated proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using version control systems such as GitHub.
Demonstrated expertise in AWS Cloud services and architecture.
Proven analytical skills.
Proven ability to handle simultaneous assignments and meet stringent deadlines.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with other analysts and developers.
Security Clearance Level: Public Trust; Candidate must have been in the US for 3 of the last 5 years and will be required to go through a public trust background investigation.
Principal duties and Responsibilities:
Design, document, develop, and deploy Python-based applications in an AWS Cloud environment.
Work with Team Analysts and Developers to migrate existing IBM Workload Scheduler job streams to Apache Airflow.
Take accountability for the design and development of complex systems to ensure they meet the business requirements.
Participate in Project Management meetings to ensure high product quality throughout the development process and life cycle.
Mentor and support less senior developers.
Take personal accountability for individual contribution towards project success.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
6+ years of experience directly related to computer functional/systems analysis.
