JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Software Engineer Anaplan Financial Planning to join our Anaplan Center of Excellence (CoE) team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise planning solutions within the Anaplan platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Anaplan model building, solution architecture, integrations, financial planning processes, and enterprise performance management. The individual will collaborate closely with the technical team to deliver scalable planning and forecasting solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
Anaplan Solution Development
Design, build, test, and deploy scalable Anaplan models supporting budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and financial reporting.
Develop and maintain modules, lists, hierarchies, actions, processes, workflows, and reporting solutions.
Apply Anaplan best practices including DISCO, PLANS, and Planual standards.
Solution Architecture
Design enterprise-grade Anaplan solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and performant.
Define model architecture, data flows, security frameworks, and integration patterns.
Recommend and implement model optimization strategies.
Financial Planning Support
Partner with FP&A stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Develop financial models supporting P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and workforce planning.
Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, scenario planning, and management reporting processes.
Integrations
Develop and maintain integrations between Anaplan and enterprise systems such as ERP, HRIS, CRM, and data warehouse platforms.
Support APIs, ETL processes, and Data Hub architectures.
Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues.
Application Lifecycle Management
Manage migrations across Development, Test, and Production environments.
Utilize ALM, Revision Tags, and deployment best practices.
Support release management and change control processes.
Performance Optimization
Monitor model health and workspace utilization.
Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.
Conduct root cause analysis and resolve system issues.
Security & Governance
Implement role-based security, selective access, and dynamic cell access.
Support data governance and compliance requirements.
Maintain auditability and operational controls.
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and solution architecture discussions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on Anaplan implementation experience.
Certified Master Anaplanner designation (CMA)
Professional Model Builder Certification.
Experience developing enterprise planning solutions within Anaplan.
Strong understanding of Anaplan modules, lists, line items, formulas, actions, and processes.
Experience applying DISCO methodology and Anaplan modeling best practices.
Experience with ALM, revision tags, and multi-environment deployment strategies.
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Experience creating dashboards, reports, and UX pages within Anaplan.
Experience integrating Anaplan with enterprise applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Solution Architect Certification.
Experience with CloudWorks, Anaplan APIs, and Data Hub architectures.
Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or ETL technologies.
Experience supporting large-scale global planning implementations.
Experience in SaaS or technology industry environments.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
