Requirement: Scrum Master / Project Manager (Microsoft Fabric and Power BI)
Engagement: 1 year Contract
Location: Remote
Hours Full US business-hours coverage (EST/CST preferred)
Start ASAP
Role overview
We need a Scrum Master / Project Manager with a strong data and BI background to run delivery for a Microsoft Fabric and Power BI data team. You will be the bridge between the team, the Technical Manager, leadership and business stakeholders. This is a delivery leadership role, not a hands-on development role.
Detail
Responsibilities
Run Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retros) for the data engineering and BI team.
Own the backlog with the Technical Manager: translate business report and data requests into clear, prioritized stories.
Act as the single point of coordination across the team, Technical Manager, leadership and business users.
Coordinate production issues and escalations, including failed overnight batch and replication jobs, through to resolution.
Track delivery, risks and dependencies; report status to leadership.
Manage stakeholder expectations on data quality issues and drive root-cause follow-up.
Improve team process, documentation and release discipline.
Required qualifications
5+ years as a Scrum Master or Project Manager, with at least 2-3 years on data, analytics or BI teams.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI: enough to follow technical discussions and understand reporting needs.
Understanding of data pipelines, data warehousing, ETL/ELT and data quality concepts.
Experience coordinating production support and incident escalations.
Excellent verbal and written communication with business and technical audiences.
Able to work US business hours (EST/CST).
Nice to have
CSM, PSM or PMP certification.
Microsoft certification such as PL-300 (Power BI) or DP-600 (Fabric).
Azure data stack exposure (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL).
Experience stabilizing a team after key-person turnover.
