As the
Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will lead the development of facility layouts and designs, labor standards, staffing and efficiency analyses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while supporting operational implementations.

What you'll do on a typical day:- Hire, train and develop industrial engineering staff; provide technical support and direction to site industrial engineers and managers
- Develop labor standards, process flow diagrams and job descriptions for new and existing operations
- Conduct time study analyses to estimate facility staffing requirements and establish production standards
- Identify, evaluate and implement productivity improvements
- Document processes to facilitate operational startups and provide on-site support as required
- Convert contract documents and SOWs into work instructions and operating procedures
- Analyze ongoing costs and compare them to prior cost and pricing estimates
- Select appropriate models for receiving, put-away, picking and packing solutions
- Identify storage and picking strategies based on product dimensions and activity levels
- Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product envelopes, product flow, transportation methods, building layout and power requirements
- Specify material handling and storage equipment solutions, including automation where justified
- Collaborate with IT resources to develop equipment requirements based on activity levels
What you need to succeed at GXO:At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 5+ years of experience working in a warehouse, distribution or 3PL environment
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Experience with Labor Management Systems (LMS)
- Project management experience, including leading projects from concept through completion
- Experience with Lean Methodology and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Six Sigma practices and principles
It'd be great if you also have:
- Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
- 7 years of industrial engineering experience in a distribution environment
- 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- SQL experience
