Overview
QBE, LLC is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Architect - SME - Architecture/Zero Trust Lead to provide enterprise cybersecurity architecture and Zero Trust leadership for NIH/OD-OIT.
This position is primarily remote but will require some TDY.
Responsibilities
Lead development and refinement of enterprise security architectures.
Define security architecture patterns, standards, and technical requirements.
Lead Zero Trust architecture planning and implementation activities.
Assess existing environments and identify gaps against target security architecture.
Develop roadmaps for identity, device, network, application, data, and visibility improvements.
Review proposed technologies and system designs for security architecture alignment.
Provide security engineering guidance for cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and third-party environments.
Support architecture review boards and technical governance processes.
Translate federal cybersecurity requirements into technical architecture.
Advise leadership on cybersecurity modernization strategies.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, information systems, business, communications, or a related field, or an additional two or more years of relevant experience in place of the degree requirement.
At least 10 years of relevant experience aligned to the responsibilities of this position.
Expert knowledge of enterprise security architecture and Zero Trust concepts.
Experience designing security solutions across hybrid and cloud environments.
Knowledge of identity, endpoint, network, application, data, and monitoring security architectures.
Ability to translate cybersecurity policy and requirements into technical designs.
CompTIA Security+ certification.
GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP) certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation, Public Trust determination, or security clearance associated with the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading Zero Trust programs in federal environments.
Familiarity with federal Zero Trust guidance and architecture models.
Experience supporting HHS, NIH, or another federal civilian agency.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
Ability to communicate effectively through virtual and in-person meetings.
Ability to perform duties in an office, remote, or hybrid environment based on program requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $140,000.00 - $155,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (for remote opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
