Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field.
Certifications: ITIL certification MUST
Required Experience:
1. 8+ years of experience in release management
2. 8+ years of experience deployment coordination
3. 8+ years of experience in a related delivery role within software implementation or technology consulting environments
4. Experience creating and managing the release calendar and coordinating release schedules across concurrent projects
5. Experience defining and enforcing release management processes, including release readiness criteria, approval gates, and rollback plans
6. Experience partnering with development, QA, and UAT teams to confirm release scope, sequencing, and dependencies
7. Experience leading release planning and go/no-go meetings, ensuring risks and open items are visible to stakeholders before deployment
8. Experience coordinating deployment activities across environments (dev, test, staging, production) with technical teams
9. Experience maintaining release documentation, including release notes, changing logs, and post-release reports
10. Experience identifying and mitigating release risks, escalating issues that could affect timeline or client commitments
11. Experience supporting post-release monitoring and coordinating quick resolution of any issues that surface after go-live
12. Experience continuously refining release management practices and templates to improve consistency across engagements
Preferred Experience:
1. Proven understanding of SDLC, environment management, and change control processes
2. Experience with release or work-tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar tools
3. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical and business teams under time pressure
4. Experience managing multiple release schedules simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
5. Experience working with federal or state government agencies
