RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Science Manager in Long Island City, NY.
Summary:
We are seeking a Data Science Manager to lead the development of advanced machine learning and optimization solutions that drive critical business decisions. This role combines data science leadership, operations research, product delivery, and stakeholder collaboration to solve complex operational challenges through predictive modeling, optimization, and workflow automation.
Duties Include:
* Lead and mentor a team of data scientists while providing technical direction and best practices
* Design and deploy machine learning and optimization models in production environments
* Partner with business stakeholders to translate complex operational challenges into scalable data-driven solutions
* Drive the development of data products and decision-support applications from concept through delivery
* Communicate insights, recommendations, and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences
* Help establish the long-term vision, processes, and standards for a growing data science organization
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or related fields
* Strong experience with optimization modeling and machine learning techniques
* Expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data science tools
* Experience deploying models into production applications
* Strong ability to balance technical execution, stakeholder management, and business objectives
* Prior leadership or people management experience preferred
* Open to senior-level individual contributors ready to step into leadership
Preferred Skills:
* Databricks, PySpark, Spark, Snowflake, dbt, or cloud-based data platforms
* Experience with forecasting, predictive analytics, optimization, recommendation systems, or similar advanced analytics solutions
* Experience building user-facing data products and decision-support tools
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
