Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer - Remote position with a Financial Services Organization located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
Compensation: $65.00 - $66.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications Position Overview: We are seeking a
Software Engineer to join a Scrum team responsible for enterprise document management and workflow applications. This team supports applications involved in receiving, storing, classifying, searching, retrieving, and distributing documents across the organization. The engineer will contribute to migrating legacy technology to modern cloud-based platforms, modernizing integrations and applications, and exploring opportunities to incorporate AI and agentic workflows.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and enhance applications using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and OpenShift
- Work within an Agile/Scrum team operating in two-week sprints
- Support applications responsible for document storage, classification, search, retrieval, and distribution
- Develop and maintain APIs used to retrieve documents across internal and customer-facing applications, including access to items such as quarterly statements
- Modernize legacy integrations, including transitioning SOAP services to REST APIs
- Help migrate applications away from WebSphere and onto OpenShift
- Contribute to broader AWS/cloud modernization initiatives
- Explore and implement AI use cases, including automated document classification
- Support future agentic AI workflows designed to automate and streamline business processes
- Collaborate closely with lead engineers and other members of the Scrum team
Primary Requirements: - 2-7+ years of software engineering/development experience
- Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot development experience
- Experience with OpenShift
- Experience with Apache Kafka
- Experience developing and consuming APIs, preferably RESTful services
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative engineering team
Desired Skills: - AWS or cloud modernization experience
- WebSphere-to-OpenShift migration experience
- SOAP-to-REST modernization
- Document management or workflow application experience
- Exposure to AI/GenAI, document classification, or agentic AI solutions
- Prior experience working successfully on a similar team is a plus
