Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesJob Summary & Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused
Field Service Engineer 3 (FSE 3) to provide advanced on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for semiconductor metrology and inspection systems. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to operate independently in highly visible customer environments.
The FSE 3 serves as a key technical liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring optimal system performance, resolving complex issues, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Provide expert-level on-site technical support, including troubleshooting, repair, and sustaining activities for complex metrology and inspection tools
- Lead installation, qualification, and startup of semiconductor equipment at customer sites
- Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and system upgrades to ensure optimal tool performance
- Diagnose and resolve advanced hardware, software, and applications issues with minimal supervision
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, managing both technical and administrative aspects of assigned accounts or projects
- Develop innovative and timely solutions to customer challenges, improving tool uptime and reliability
- Instruct and train customers on system operation, maintenance procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and support teams to address customer feedback and drive product improvements
- Manage and resolve quality issues, including submission and follow-up of DOA, RMA, and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of service activities, system performance, and customer interactions
- Support a broad range of field service activities, including hardware, software, networking, and system integration
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, or related technical field
- 5+ years of field service or related experience in semiconductor equipment or similar high-tech industry
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and metrology/inspection tools
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex electromechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and handle escalations or highly complex technical issues
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with system installations and customer site management
- Knowledge of networking, PCs, and systems integration
- Experience working in cleanroom environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Physical & Work Environment Requirements - Ability to work in confined spaces within cleanroom environments
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to successfully meet customer site access requirements such as: background checks, safety training, and cleanroom access (gowning and breathing apparatus)
Work Schedule & Travel - 5x8 shifts, with possible weekend or after-hours support
- Travel up to 20%, including domestic and occasional international travel
- Initial travel for training and OJT to Taiwan & Korea

Compensation & Growth Base Salary Range:
$71,360.00 - $107,040.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
