Job Details
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to support a growing Professional Solutions business within the commercial audio/AV market.
This is a highly customer-facing technical role for someone who understands the science behind professional audio systems but can also communicate that expertise effectively with customers, consultants, integrators and sales partners.
You'll partner closely with Regional Sales Managers throughout the sales process, helping customers translate their goals into technically sound audio solutions. The role will support projects from early-stage conversations and product specification through system design review, demonstrations, training and commissioning support.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as a technical expert for professional audio products and applications
Partner with sales leadership, AV consultants, integrators and end users throughout the sales and design process
Participate in customer meetings, site visits, product demonstrations and presentations
Review and validate professional audio system designs
Support acoustic modeling and loudspeaker system design using EASE or similar tools
Work with CAD drawings and professional AV system documentation
Provide technical guidance around DSP programming and system integration
Train customers, dealers, distributors and sales partners on products and applications
Support product demonstrations and customer tours at the San Clemente facility
Assist with system commissioning and troubleshooting as needed
Provide feedback from customers and the market to internal product and engineering teams
Travel approximately 50% throughout the U.S., with occasional travel elsewhere in North America
Ideal Candidate
5+ years of experience within commercial/professional AV or professional audio
Strong technical background in commercial audio system design
Experience personally designing professional AV/audio systems
Comfortable discussing system design with AV consultants, integrators and sophisticated end users
Experience with acoustic modeling software such as EASE or similar
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or comparable design tools
Previous experience programming professional audio DSP platforms such as Q-SYS, Biamp, Crestron or Symetrix
Strong presentation skills and comfortable speaking both one-on-one and in front of larger groups
Ability to translate a customer's desired experience or environment into a technically appropriate solution
Customer-facing personality with the ability to build relationships without losing technical credibility
CTS-D and/or Dante certifications are a plus
Smaart/Systune or other commissioning experience is a plus
Able to travel approximately 50%
The role is primarily based from the San Clemente office when not traveling, with some flexibility to work from home when appropriate
