About the Role
The Fleet Support Engineer on the Vehicle Development team will be actively engaged in the operational uptime of the fleet. The ideal candidate is a technical expert who collaborates well with cross-functional teams, meticulously documents troubleshooting processes, and provides real-time support for daily operations.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for real-time escalations across all vehicle subsystems
Conduct in-depth root cause analysis through comprehensive log review to identify and resolve fleet issues
Develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for technicians, incorporating newly diagnosed faults and their resolutions
Perform hardware bring-up and validation procedures for new sensor components (LiDAR, radar, cameras, etc.)
Design and implement diagnostic procedures to streamline future troubleshooting, with a focus on sensor calibration and data integrity
Review historical vehicle and fleet data, including sensor data, to identify trends and issues
Collaborate with engineering design teams to enhance tooling and improve issue detection capabilities
Develop and implement effective countermeasures across the fleet to prevent recurring issues
Define and capture essential data points to validate issue resolution and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions
Drive continuous improvement in vehicle performance and reliability through cross-functional collaboration
Be available for overtime as needed, with advance notice
Willingness to travel occasionally within the U.S. to support operational locations

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles, with a specific focus on perception systems and sensors
Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Automotive Engineering
Experience with low/high voltage circuits, Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS), and safe troubleshooting practices
Understanding of hardware and software systems architecture and communications in an operations setting
Holistic problem-solving approach: able to trace high-level vehicle function issues down to specific component-level resolutions
Self-starter with the ability to build relationships across the company
Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and connector end views/pinouts
Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with electric vehicle technology
Experience with remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting
Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic tools
Experience with Linux and Python-based programming for fleet-level data processing
Experience with software that interfaces with hardware
Familiarity with networking, TCP, and socket programming
