This role is responsible for the end-to-end development, architectural evolution, and high-reliability maintenance of core backend services and partner-facing portals. The engineer ensures seamless delivery and scalability by managing Java-based services, complex batch processing jobs, and production-grade configurations.
Core Responsibilities:
Feature Development & Refactoring Design and implement core backend logic, perform high-impact refactoring of legacy components, and evaluate appropriate tech stacks for new feature requests.
Production Reliability & On-Duty Monitor system health, triage issues, diagnose critical outages, and manage the full release lifecycle (including submissions, rollbacks, and cherry-picks).- Configuration & Infrastructure Manage environment-specific configurations, optimize data retrieval for high-volume requests, and leverage internal data tools to monitor performance and generate insights.
Technical Collaboration Conduct rigorous code reviews and provide technical feedback to maintain high standards of system integrity and code quality.
Required Skills & Experience:
Primary Language: Strong proficiency in Java.
Frameworks & Infrastructure: Experience with Guice, RPC, and cloud-based hosting frameworks (such as Spanner, Borg, or equivalent distributed systems).
Configuration & Build Tools: Familiarity with Bazel and internal configuration management systems.
Development Tools Proficiency in modern IDEs, code search tools, and AI-assisted coding environments
