Job Title: Senior Product Designer, Mobile Design Systems (Contract)OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer with deep expertise in mobile design systems to help drive the consistency, scalability, and quality of user experiences across multiple consumer mobile products. This role is ideal for a designer who combines exceptional visual craft with strong systems thinking and enjoys partnering closely with product and engineering teams to build and evolve design systems that enable teams to move faster while maintaining a high-quality user experience.Location- Seattle, WA (preferred) or Burlingame, CA
Key Responsibilities- Design, evolve, and maintain reusable design system components, patterns, and interaction models for mobile experiences.
- Manage and maintain Figma libraries, design documentation, and source-of-truth assets.
- Partner with product teams to create new components and refine existing system patterns based on emerging product requirements.
- Provide design system support through office hours, design critiques, documentation, and consultation.
- Promote adoption and adherence to design standards and best practices across multiple product teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure design system components are accurately implemented in production.
- Contribute lightweight code updates when appropriate to maintain alignment between design and implementation.
- Identify opportunities to improve system quality, usability, scalability, consistency, and accessibility.
- Drive continuous improvement of design workflows, governance, and documentation processes.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining production design systems for mobile products at scale.
- Advanced expertise in Figma, including component architecture, variants, auto layout, variables, design tokens, and library management.
- Proven experience creating reusable UI components, interaction patterns, and scalable documentation.
- Strong visual design skills with exceptional attention to detail across typography, spacing, accessibility, consistency, and overall user experience quality.
- Experience partnering closely with software engineers to bring design systems into production environments.
- Experience managing design systems that support multiple products, brands, or user experiences while balancing consistency and flexibility.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a track record of presenting system changes, documenting decisions, and driving adoption across cross-functional teams.
- Experience designing consumer-facing mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with design tokens and code-backed design systems.
- Familiarity with React Native and/or native iOS and Android component architectures.
- Experience using Git and GitHub and contributing minor code updates.
- Experience facilitating design system governance, office hours, design reviews, or adoption programs.
- Experience supporting large organizations with multiple teams leveraging a shared design system.
- Ability to work independently, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and drive solutions with limited direction.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90.00 - $110.00/hr.
