Job Description:
We are looking for a validation & Integration Engineer to support 5G SA and Femto deployments with a focus on lab setup, environment readiness, and system integration. The role involves provisioning test environments, managing CMS readiness, coordinating with infrastructure teams, and validating system stability across releases.
About the Role
We are looking for a 6-10yr experienced 4G/5G Wireless Protocol engineer who will be working as a part of the Proprietary femto & NMS team.
You will be a key contributor as a Lead engineer responsible for performing Security, functional lab and field-testing ,lab
Skill Sets:
5G SA/NSA(FR1/FR2), LTE, IMS, NMS integration, O-RAN, GPS (TSIP,TAIP,NMEA) protocols
Tools & Technology:
QXDM, QCAT, QCAL, Shannon DM, Wireshark, e911, and other security compliance & 3GPP 5G specs.
Special Skills:
3GPP Knowledge ,NBI(North bound Interface), South bound interface,5G Harman femto log analysis, Linux administration (RHEL), ISO install, package deployment, VM snapshot/recovery, CMS/NMS provisioning, service restarts, log collection, Networking basics (VLAN, port mapping), system monitoring tools, JIRA, Confluence, Git (for infra-level tracking & version control), Deep experience testing the series(smart-Antenna receiver/transmitter),GPS simulators and GPS protocols test experience.
What You Will Do /Key Responsibilities:
Lab Infrastructure & System Setup:30%
Manage end-to-end lab setup including VM provisioning, ISO deployment, and service configurations.
Coordinate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure continuous test environment availability.
CMS Server Readiness & Validation:25%
Ensure CMS platform is installed, configured, and integrated for Femto/NMS testing.
Perform basic functional validation and support test teams with access and deployment.
Environment & Release Support: 20%
Maintain readiness of lab environments for feature testing, patching, and regression cycles.
Support upgrade testing, rollbacks, and system snapshot management.
Issue Triage & Infrastructure Coordination:15%
Collaborate with infra/DevOps teams for log analysis, port access, firewall rules, and debugging system-level issues.
Track environment blockers and work toward resolution with minimal downtime.
Documentation & Stakeholder Coordination:10%
Document lab topology, deployment procedures, and version history.
Align with customer and internal stakeholders for scheduling, access, and provisioning support.
Additional:
- Work remotely in the Simulator lab to perform RF/protocol/Application testing for 4G/5G devices.
- Work as field testing engineer in the market for seamless deployment of femto.
- Create a learning knowledge base and train the team members on new learning.
- Work with the Client team to find the root cause of the issue reported.
- Conduct research and analysis to define features and functions for 5G advanced and 6G.
What You Need
-
- A firm/expert working knowledge and protocol expertise in 5G SA & NSA/LTE ,IMS and O-RAN Platforms.
- Practical experience evaluating high-accuracy positioning systems utilizing RTK (Real-Time Kinematic), PPP (Precise Point Positioning), and NTRIP protocols.
- Knowledge on NMEA-0183 / NMEA-2000, RTCM (v2.x, v3.x), RINEX, proprietary receiver, binary formats (e.g., u-blox UBX, NovAtel OEM, Qualcomm QXDM logs).
- Worked in GPS simulators like Spirent (GSS7000/GSS9000, SimGEN), Rohde & Schwarz (SMW200A),Keysight, Skydel, NI PXI Vector Signal Transceivers (VST),Protempis.
- Strong Knowledge of log analysis tools like QXDM, QCAL, Shannon DM, ETL, etc .
- Must have experience in testing with different modules, chipsets, IOT devices and mobile devices.
- Must have work experience in lab testing with Keysight/Spirent/Anritsu and R&S simulators in both 5G/4G environments.
- Have experience/knowledge of field testing for any one operator and tools associated with field testing.
- Deep understanding of LTE, VoLTE, 5G VoNR L2/L3 call flows with the ability to understand and analyze traces (PCAP, GNB traces).
- Continue to provide the best network in the industry as measured by RootMetrics and other benchmarking metrics.
- Self-motivated and report the daily testing status to the Client/Internal team.
- Should know bug reporting tools like JIRA, PLM, etc.
What is Nice to Have
-
- Bachelor/master's degree related to telecommunication/networking/Computer science.
- Testing experience on certification testing is an added advantage.
- Any 5G certification course completion or paper submission related to the latest technology is an added advantage.
- Experience in Automation/Test script development on simulators.
- Experience in test plan creation, test scope identification and test case development.
