Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for high-precision machining applications. This role will work closely with engineering, machinists, and setup personnel to translate complex drawings and 3D models into efficient, accurate machining processes.
The ideal candidate has strong experience programming CNC turning equipment and is comfortable working with advanced multi-axis machining, CAD/CAM software, tooling, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, edit, and optimize CNC programs for turning and machining equipment.
Program a variety of CNC turning platforms, including Swiss-style, vertical turning, and horizontal turning equipment.
Utilize CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and SolidWorks to develop machining programs.
Program and troubleshoot multi-axis equipment involving live tooling, sub-spindles, twin turrets, Y-axis, and B-axis configurations.
Analyze blueprints, engineering drawings, and 3D models to determine appropriate machining methods.
Apply GD&T principles to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
Select appropriate tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
Troubleshoot and edit G-code and M-code at the machine controller.
Work with machinists and setup operators to prove out new programs and resolve machining issues.
Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times, improve tool life, increase efficiency, and improve part quality.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to meet customer specifications and production requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machining processes and programming.
Maintain accurate documentation related to CNC programs, tooling, and machining processes.
