Production Supervisor – Automotive Manufacturing
Overview
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to manage small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, meeting production targets, developing team members, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and achieving key business metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Ensure production plans and operational goals are achieved.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment while enforcing safety procedures.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop production team members.
- Allocate manpower effectively and manage attendance.
- Analyze production performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality performance and address production issues.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Lead improvement activities focused on safety, quality, cost, throughput, and waste reduction.
- Present production metrics and operational updates as needed.
- Build effective working relationships with employees and leadership across the organization.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications to support daily operations and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work first or second shift, overtime, and weekends as required.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Goal-oriented with strong leadership skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing systems.
