Job DetailsWe are seeking an accomplished Director of Corporate Tax to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of our U.S. tax strategy and compliance programs. This high-impact position will serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, executive leadership, business-unit leaders, and international stakeholders.
The Director will oversee a broad tax function encompassing federal, state, local, and indirect taxes while identifying opportunities to reduce risk, improve processes, and optimize the organization's overall tax position. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded tax leader who enjoys combining technical expertise with strategic thinking, team development, and cross-functional partnership.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license required.
- 12+ years of progressive tax experience within a corporate tax department, public accounting firm, or a combination.
- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing a broad corporate tax function.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with corporate income tax compliance, tax planning, audits, and indirect taxes.
- Ability to advise executive leadership on complex tax matters and business decisions.
- Experience managing and developing internal teams and external professional-service providers.
- SOX and internal-control compliance experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute comprehensive tax policies and strategies.
- Ensure compliance with the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and applicable state and local tax laws.
- Direct the accurate and timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement tax-planning opportunities and savings initiatives across the organization.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their potential business impact, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Oversee indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax, real estate tax, personal property tax, and other regional and local taxes.
- Provide strategic tax guidance to the CFO, executive leadership, business units, financial management teams, and international stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop corporate tax and related finance personnel.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consulting partners.
- Strengthen tax governance, internal controls, documentation, and risk-management practices.
- Partner with accounting, finance, legal, treasury, and business leadership to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into organizational decisions.
