The Test Site Systems Engineer will directly support the Global Battery Systems Lab (GBSL), the Wallace Battery Cell Innovation Center (WBCIC), and the Root Cause Warranty Center (RWC) at the Warren Technical Center campus with a focus on the software environments and automation platforms that enable safe, efficient testing.
The Global Battery Systems Lab (GBSL-W) and Wallace Battery Cell Innovation Center (WBCIC) utilize various automation software systems to operate 24/7. The Global Battery Systems Lab has testing capabilities that include traditional environmental testing, vibration, safety and abuse, exploratory development testing, and maintains commonality with GM's battery lab located in Shanghai, China (GBSL-S). The Wallace Battery Innovation Center houses battery cell test chambers, cell formation chambers, a material synthesis lab, a slurry mixing and processing lab, a coating room, an electrolyte production lab, and a forensics lab with material analysis equipment and advanced software The Root Cause Warranty Center (RWC) performs advanced diagnostic and failure analysis on returned components as well as full systems, using specialized test equipment, data analytics, plus forensic methods to resolve complex warranty issues.
