Role Overview
As a Systems Engineer, you will transform technology into opportunity by connecting and enhancing critical enterprise IT systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the security and intelligence of our technological infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and apply advanced engineering methods to investigate and solve complex system requirements and hardware/software interfaces.
- Operate and sustain VMware infrastructure, including updating, testing, and deploying vSphere and vCenter product releases.
- Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, primarily Windows and Linux, including provisioning, maintenance, and security compliance.
- Maintain the virtualized server environment through configuration, implementation, and support activities, while monitoring health and performance.
- Implement and maintain compliance with information security policies and technical standards.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and configure network components and storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and iSCSI implementations.
- Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems, including account monitoring, security, and OS installation.
- Integrate new technologies into existing systems and support day-to-day IT operations and problem resolution.
- Review customer requirements and provide recommendations for technical architecture changes.
Required Qualifications
- Working technical competency in platforms such as Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, MS Hyper-V/VMWare/ESx/Xen Hypervisors, Scripting, BMC Footprints, WSUS, Lumension, Bitlocker, SQL Server 2012, Microsoft IIS, Windows Server 2012r2/2016, Win 10, Red Hat 6.5, or Microsoft Office.
- Hands-on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies.
- Experience with SAN, NAS, and iSCSI storage implementations.
- Experience with capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization for storage and backup environments.
- Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies.
- Experience with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems.
- DoD8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) is required.
