Duties Description The Plant Utility Engineer 1, on an assigned shift in a heating and/or air-conditioning plant, or in a single or multi-building facility, operates and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, hot water, ventilation, air-conditioning and electrical distribution.
Minimum Qualifications Transfer Opportunity: NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as a Plant Utilities Engineer 1 (G-14) and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have 3-7 years in industrial utilities in a Power Plant setting.They will have experience with Utility Systems-Commercial boilers gas and oil, cooling towers, compressed air systems, commercial Generators, Electrical Switchgear, and Building Management systems. The preferred candidate will have proficient knowledge experience in spread sheets for tracking of utility consumption accounts and systems.

The posted salary range ($60,506 - $72,630) includes $4,000 of Downstate Adjustment.
