Software Dev Engineer - Software Dev Engineer IV
Location: Westborough, Massachusetts (Hybrid)
Role Overview
You will design and develop web-based dashboards, metrics visualizations, and user interfaces that enable service operators to monitor and manage robotics systems. As a senior-level resource capable of system design, this is a hands-on role where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance operational tools that provide real-time insights and actionable data.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design scalable front-end systems, with approximately 15% of time on project design and 80% on hands-on development.
- Design and develop web-based dashboards and metrics visualizations.
- Create user interfaces for monitoring and managing robotics systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable operational tools.
- Ensure the delivery of high-performance tools providing real-time insights and data.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of front-end web development experience with expertise in React.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience designing and implementing operational dashboards and metrics visualizations for technical users.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
- Proficiency in data visualization libraries like D3.js, Chart.js, or Recharts and handling time-series data.
- Proven experience delivering scalable, high-performance web UIs in production environments.
- Background with technology providers, e-commerce companies, or similar large-scale technology environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with this organization is preferred.
- Experience with query languages such as PromQL, LogQL, or CloudWatch Insights Query Language.
- Knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies like WebSockets or Server-Sent Events and alerting systems.
- Experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, or Datadog and/or log aggregation platforms like Elasticsearch or Splunk.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Background developing interfaces for industrial, robotics, or infrastructure applications with knowledge of SRE practices.
