JOB SUMMARY: Research & Development engineers, develop new products, redesign existing products, and perform research and testing on product concepts. R&D engineers work in a collaborative environment that includes other engineers, marketing professionals, and manufacturers. R&D engineers assignments are executed under the direction of the R&D Supervisor/Manager with an emphasis on meeting and/or exceeding customer requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - R&D engineers work many different software programs; such as, Catia V5, V6 and other related.
- Manages the planning, development, and execution of important engineering projects.
- Coordinates with both internal customers as well as multiple outside suppliers to ensure Design for Manufacturability, cost, and schedule goals are met.
- Uses advanced engineering principles and problem-solving capabilities to provide technical solutions for a wide range of tasks.
- Design and build prototypes of system components for testing.
- Develop required test procedures and coordinate testing with other applicable groups.
- Works well in a cross-functional and diverse team environment
- Ability to successfully navigate through ambiguity.
- Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
- Drives improvements to daily processes and ensures all work meets or exceeds customer requirements.
- Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products and processes.
EDUCATION: - Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in:
- Engineering
- Industrial Design
- Other related technical field
EXPERIENCE: - Professional and diplomatic demeanor
- Strong sense of accountability and integrity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment
- Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in CATIA is preferred
