Do not send AWS-heavy profiles. Need Azure-specific platform/DevOps engineers, not AI/ML developers.
About the role:
Existing contractor is supporting the Azure environment for AI and data initiatives; new hire will complement their skill set and fill gaps across the Azure platform.
Microsoft Purview is a key need, particularly around AI/data governance.
5 days/week onsite in Woburn, MA
Existing contractor is interested in staying but is not looking to convert; new hire has potential to convert.

Day-to-day:
Build, automate, secure, deploy, monitor and govern the Azure platform supporting AI and data workloads.
Ideal profile:
Senior-level, hands-on Azure Platform / DevOps Engineer supporting enterprise AI and data workloads. Strong Terraform, Azure DevOps/CI/CD, Azure networking, security and identity are required. Purview experience is important, with Fabric/Foundry experience being a key differentiator/priority. The person will complement the existing engineer and fill gaps across Azure platform engineering, governance, security and AI infrastructure.

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Azure DevOps / AI Platform Engineer to help build, automate, secure, and operate enterprise Azure infrastructure supporting AI, data, and cloud-native workloads.
This is a hands-on Azure platform engineering role, not an AI/ML development position. You will work alongside an existing Azure engineer and help fill gaps across Azure infrastructure, DevOps, governance, security, and AI platform capabilities.
The ideal candidate has strong core Azure engineering experience combined with hands-on exposure to Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric/OneLake, and Azure AI Foundry.
What You'll Do
Build, automate, secure, and operate enterprise Azure infrastructure
Develop and maintain Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code
Build and manage Azure DevOps YAML CI/CD pipelines
Support Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Fabric/OneLake, Purview, and related AI/data platform services
Design and maintain Azure networking including VNets, subnets, NSGs, private endpoints, DNS, routing, and firewall integration
Implement Entra ID, Azure RBAC, identity, and access controls
Manage Key Vault and secure secrets
Support secure deployments across Development, Test, and Production environments
Monitor Azure environments using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
Implement cloud governance and security controls
Troubleshoot complex Azure platform and infrastructure issues
Partner with application, cybersecurity, networking, data, architecture, and governance teams
Develop technical documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering
3+ years of hands-on Azure production experience
Strong Azure DevOps and CI/CD experience
Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience
Strong Git and YAML pipeline experience
Experience with Azure networking and secure cloud architecture
Experience with Entra ID / Azure RBAC
Experience with Key Vault
Experience with Azure Monitor / Log Analytics
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience operating Azure environments across Development, Test, and Production
Ability to work across application, cybersecurity, networking, data, architecture, and governance teams
