Cloud Billing Company Zuora to Double Staff
Zuora, the Silicon Valley-based company that offers online billing and payment for cloud computing services, is growing rapidly and looking for new talent in 2011. Last year, Zuora grew by 400 percent, according to company officials. In November, 2010 Zuora garnered a Series C, $20 million funding round, bringing total funding for the company up to $41.5 million. With the new influx of cash, the company hopes to double its employee count from 130 currently, to around 260 this year. While the company seeks positions in sales, finance and operations, services and customer service roles, 30 percent of its new hires will be for technical positions. Zuora seeks solution and java architects, java engineers, QA engineers, product managers and project managers and leads for its professional services team. Zuora's development is in Java, so the company seeks Java experts who can write clean and efficient Java code, said Marshall Choi, recruiting manager at Zuora. "We look for smart, creative people that think out of the box," Choi said. "We need our employees to solve problems, so they need to be pretty smart and know particular skills very well." The company is always looking for tech professionals experienced in cloud computing, but cloud experience is not required. If you have experience in billing and payment solutions Zuora will pay particular attention to you. To land a technical job at Zuora, be prepared to display your competency with algorithms during the interview and write sample code. Candidates are often asked to solve problems that are somewhat simple, then progress in difficulty, Choi said.
