There’s a lot to be said for thinking positive. But what about thinking negative? According to Psychology Today
, letting a little darkness into your thought process can do you some good in the long run. Psychology Today cites two new books (The Upside of Your Dark Side
and Rethinking Positive Thinking
) that suggest a little pessimism can serve as an excellent motivator for accomplishing tasks throughout the day, while a touch of anxiety can make people more detail-oriented. Other benefits of a negative attitude include an increased ability to see through phoniness, which is great when deal-making. Does that mean a negative mindset is worth any emotional, physical, and mental drawbacks? That’s up to you.
