The Work

The Software Developer QA Tester will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software applications and systems. This role will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your expertise in software testing, development, and quality assurance will directly impact the success of mission-critical projects. This role will develop and execute detailed test plans, identify software issues, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects. Additionally, this position involves enhancing software features, participating in code reviews, and contributing to design discussions, making it ideal for a versatile and dynamic developer tester. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Software Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for both automated and manual testing to identify software defects and ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
- Test system modifications prior to implementation to validate product functionality and quality.
- Identify edge cases, perform defect triage, and conduct regression testing to ensure product reliability.
Defect Documentation and Reporting:
- Document and log software and application defects using a bug-tracking system.
- Collaborate closely with software or web developers to report defects and assist in resolving issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of identified defects.
Collaboration in Development Lifecycle:
- Actively participate in software design reviews to provide valuable input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and project schedules.
- Collaborate with business analysts, end users, and leadership to translate customer requirements into functional interfaces, maintaining a focus on usability and accessibility.
Software Development:
- Develop, enhance, and refine software application features.
- Refactor code bases while adhering to secure coding practices and usability principles.
- Fix software defects and contribute to feature implementation, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Support and Troubleshooting:
- Contribute to documentation, testing improvements, and troubleshooting in both development and production environments to resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

Qualifications - Here's What You Need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- SharePoint/web design, software/application development, or software testing/QA.
Proficiency in HTML/CSS and familiarity with modern programming languages or frameworks (e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript, .NET).

Understanding of usability principles, accessibility standards, secure coding practices, and structured development lifecycles.
Experience with relational databases, RESTful services, or automated testing frameworks.
Active Secret Security clearance is required.
Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Strong analytical and debugging skills to identify software defects and resolve functionality gaps.
Exceptional teamwork and communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Adaptability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality solutions in dynamic environments.
Commitment to secure, maintainable, and scalable coding practices.
Self-driven, with an ability to independently prioritize tasks and meet project objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting government or corporate intranets or mission-critical applications.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and performance or security testing methodologies.
Knowledge of web-based workflows, form design, and production support environments.
