Team (Project) Introduction
9th Way Insignia is seeking a Junior Tester for manual testing of C#, Visual Studio, and .NET-based applications in support of the to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Procurement Systems Management (PSM) under the electronic Contract Management System (eCMS) System Integration & Operational Support Services (SI/OSS) program. The candidate will be capable of participating in exploratory and functional manual testing. This role requires technical knowledge, problem solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of software testing with ability to become proficient in Visual Studio, C#, and .NET-based applications. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for improving product quality, capable of learning and executing best practices and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities:
Manual Testing
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and smoke testing to validate system behavior.
- Review requirement documentation and develop clear test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Identify gaps in requirements and test coverage; provide recommendations for improvement.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams to ensure high-quality product releases.
- Participate in sprint planning, story refinement, and defect triage meetings.
- Communicate test progress and risks to stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or a technical field.
- Knowledge of software testing with ability to become proficient in Visual Studio, C#, and .NET-based applications
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of QA methodologies and Agile principles.
- Ability to perform manual testing with attention to detail and solid documentation skills.
- Ability to develop problem solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for improving product quality.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred/Desired:
- Understanding of API testing using tools like Postman, RestSharp, or similar libraries.
- Performance testing experience (JMeter, or similar).
- Exposure to automation tools such as:
- Selenium WebDriver
- BDD frameworks
