Role Overview
We are seeking a GIS Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will manage routine GIS tasks, including data management and map creation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role involves collaboration with GIS Analysts on complex projects and providing input on GIS tool enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with data collection, editing, and quality control checking related to the Work Management platform in ESRI ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS Online.
- Develop and support web applications, Field Maps, Python Notebooks, and Experience Builder projects for the ESRI ArcGIS Online Work Management Platform.
- Run and support Python scripts for various business needs, including Capital Map Shapefile creation and Dispatch for Distribution Vegetation Management.
- Create maps and other visual representations using GIS tools and ensure timely updates to GIS databases.
- Remotely assist team members with troubleshooting the use of developed ArcGIS Online products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education: An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with a curriculum that included Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is required. Experience and portfolios will be requested.
Experience: 2-5 years of experience in feature and table data creation, manipulation, and visualization in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ESRI ArcGIS Online products is necessary. 2-5 years of experience developing Web Apps and Web Maps for ESRI Collector/Field Maps and ESRI Experience Builder or equivalent low-code GIS development solutions is also required. 1-2 years of experience building and supporting Python scripts and Python Notebooks in a GIS-centric environment, acquired through education or professional experience, is needed.
Technical Skills: Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft CoPilot for GIS-related tasks and 2-5 years of experience with Office 365, specifically including Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft SharePoint in a cloud environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
- Utility industry experience is preferred.
- Experience in Vegetation Management or Forestry is a plus.
