GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs highly complex (seniorlevel) data analysis work gathering and examining information to find useful patterns, trends, and insights. Work involves turning raw data into clear, understandable answers that help the agency make better decisions. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinates the planning, design, development, implementation, support, and maintenance of agency dashboards, primarily utilizing Tableau and any other tools the department may procure.
2. Leads dashboard development projects to completion with minimal guidance and document the process related to the dashboard implementation.
3. Provides strategic guidance and leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of data analytics frameworks, methodologies, and standards.
4. Captures, develops, and documents data definitions, business processes, and data quality requirements.
5. Oversees, mentors, and provides technical directions to data analysts and other team members; oversees workload distribution, quality assurance, and professional development.
6. Acts as a resource to interpret data, identify gaps, and make recommendations to improve processes.
7. Communicates complex analytical findings through clear reports, presentations, and briefings tailored to technical and nontechnical audience.
8. Oversees the development and automation of data pipelines, dashboards, and statistical models to support operational and strategic decisionmaking.
9. Leads initiatives to evaluate emerging analytics technologies, tools, and best practices, making recommendations to enhance organizational analytic capabilities.
10. Coordinates across diverse technical teams and business units to ensure data accessibility, integrity, and alignment with system requirements.
11. Attends work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:Education High School Diploma/equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university with a major in Computer Science, Data Analysis, Data Science is preferred.
Experience Minimum of four (4) years' experience performing work with data visualization tools is required. Experience in manipulating large data sets through statistical software or other methods is required. Experience in functional expertise in developing frontend reporting solutions is required.

Licensure and/or Certification Driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence. Tableau Desktop certification is highly preferred.
Critical Organizational Infrastructure requirements This job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure; must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role. Additionally, and more specifically, must not be employed by nor have any connection or continuous connections to any governmental entity or political apparatus of a country listed in 15 C.F.R. 791.4.
Regulatory knowledge Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.
Leadership skills Knowledge of management/supervisory methods and principles, performance/productivity standards, and fiscal/budget management. Ability to develop plans, policies, and procedures for efficient workflow and overall effectiveness. Ability to provide clear direction to others, promote teamwork and motivate others to accomplish goals.
Technology Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems (e.g. CAPPS, SharePoint, Oracle, SQL, Python, or similar language) and be able to learn new software/systems.

Schedule and Travel Availability for afterhours and weekend work is required. This position may have the ability to telecommute based on the needs of the division/agency. Travel statewide up to 12 days per month.

Salary is contingent upon qualifications and is subject to salary administration and budgetary restrictions.
