Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Lead to support complex data engineering, analytics, cloud, and AI adoption initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading technical projects and programs, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing enterprise data initiatives, and driving successful technology implementations.
This role relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish project objectives. The candidate will independently perform a variety of complex tasks, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and operate with a high degree of creativity and latitude. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to align business stakeholders, technical teams, and AI/data engineering groups.
The role will support Technical Project Management activities for data engineering and AI adoption programs, including project planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, implementation coordination, status reporting, risk management, and delivery tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, coordination, requirements gathering, business analysis, specifications development, and implementation activities for moderate to complex technology solutions.
Manage technical projects involving data engineering, analytics platforms, cloud technologies, and AI adoption initiatives.
Partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, developers, analysts, and AI teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Define project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reports, RAID logs, project documentation, and executive updates.
Monitor project progress, identify risks/issues, coordinate resolutions, and ensure timely delivery.
Support data platform modernization, data architecture, data modeling, and data warehouse initiatives.
Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear business outcomes.
Manage cross-functional teams, vendors, dependencies, and resource planning activities.
Support project budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking, and resource allocation.
Coordinate Agile project activities, including sprint planning, backlog tracking, and delivery reporting.
Utilize project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet for tracking and reporting.
Support AI/ML adoption programs, advanced analytics initiatives, and digital transformation efforts.
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and data governance standards.
Conduct project reviews, lessons learned sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience managing technical projects or programs in enterprise IT environments.
Strong experience leading data, analytics, cloud, and technology-driven initiatives.
Experience managing data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing projects from planning through implementation.
Proven experience delivering business intelligence, big data, and analytics solutions in complex organizations.
Experience supporting healthcare data initiatives; knowledge of healthcare data standards such as FHIR, CCDA, and HL7 is a plus.
Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies to support project planning, estimation, and issue resolution.
Strong understanding of SDLC processes, enterprise applications, information management principles, and technology architecture.
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams, vendors, and complex project timelines.
Experience defining project scope, objectives, milestones, schedules, and measurable outcomes.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with technical teams, business users, and executive leadership.
Experience with project planning, budgeting, forecasting, resource management, and status reporting.
Excellent documentation skills including project plans, charters, schedules, requirements documentation, and lessons learned.
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple initiatives, and proactively manage project activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
Familiarity with healthcare compliance, security, privacy, and data governance concepts.
PMP certification required (proof of certification may be requested).
Additional certifications such as PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar project management certifications are preferred.
Experience supporting AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or digital transformation programs.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Cloud architecture certifications or TOGAF certification preferred.
Strong consulting, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Customer-focused approach with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
