POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 Copilot Engineer to engineer, deploy, govern, and optimize Microsoft 365 Copilot across a large enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on Microsoft 365 engineering role, not a research or machine-learning position. The engineer will work across Microsoft 365, Copilot, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, Microsoft Purview, Copilot Studio, and Power Platform.

The primary focus is making Microsoft 365 Copilot secure, governed, usable, and production-ready across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will assess the Microsoft 365 environment for Copilot readiness, identify data exposure and oversharing risks, remediate permissions and governance gaps, implement Purview controls, support Copilot deployments, monitor adoption, and help business teams turn practical AI use cases into production solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Microsoft 365 Copilot Engineering

• Implement and support Microsoft 365 Copilot in an enterprise production environment.
• Perform Copilot readiness assessments covering tenant configuration, licensing, identity, permissions, data, security, and governance.
• Support Copilot across SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Viva, and Microsoft 365.
• Support pilot deployments, phased rollouts, enterprise enablement, and ongoing Copilot operations.
• Troubleshoot Copilot-related configuration, access, data, and platform issues.

Microsoft 365 Security, Governance & Purview

• Assess and remediate Microsoft 365 oversharing, permissions, access, and content governance issues.
• Configure and administer Microsoft Purview.
• Work with DLP, Sensitivity Labels, Information Protection, Compliance Manager, and Insider Risk Management.
• Support Conditional Access, RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Zero Trust, and identity governance initiatives.
• Partner with Security, Risk, Compliance, and Data teams to maintain appropriate controls around enterprise AI usage.

Copilot Analytics & Adoption

• Monitor Copilot adoption, utilization, usage patterns, and business value.
• Build reporting using Copilot Analytics, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Viva Insights, and Power BI.
• Analyze adoption and usage data to identify gaps and optimization opportunities.
• Support user enablement through training, prompt libraries, office hours, documentation, and adoption programs.

Copilot Studio & Automation

• Support Microsoft Copilot Studio implementations and AI-powered agents.
• Work with Power Platform, Power Automate, and Power Apps where applicable.
• Help identify business processes that can benefit from Copilot, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Translate business requirements into practical Microsoft AI solutions.

Operations & Engineering

• Support incidents, service requests, changes, releases, problem management, and root-cause analysis.
• Develop technical documentation, architecture/configuration standards, runbooks, support procedures, and operational processes.
• Evaluate new Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 capabilities and determine where they can add business value.
• Work with IT, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and business stakeholders throughout implementation and optimization.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 engineering or administration experience
• Production experience implementing or supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft 365
  • SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Exchange Online
  • OneDrive
  • Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
  • Microsoft Graph
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview
• Strong knowledge of DLP, Sensitivity Labels, Information Protection, Compliance Manager, and Insider Risk Management
• Experience with Microsoft 365 security, permissions, identity, governance, and compliance
• Experience with Copilot Analytics, Viva Insights, Power BI, or Microsoft 365 reporting
• Strong troubleshooting and enterprise stakeholder communication skills
