Genesis10 is currently seeking a Performance Test Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. In this role, you will consult on complex software engineering initiatives, focusing on performance testing for a policy governance platform. As the dedicated test engineer for a scrum team, you will be responsible for improving application performance by designing test cases, developing automation scripts, executing various performance tests, and analyzing results to identify bottlenecks.
Responsibilities: - Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering
- Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges
- Create performance test strategies, test plans, and performance reports
- Design test cases, develop test scripts, and perform test execution and results analysis
- Identify application performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and contribute to performance tuning
- Analyze JVM, application server, database, and infrastructure performance
- Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
Requirements: - 7 years of experience in Performance Testing of Java-based applications and distributed systems
- 7 years of strong hands-on experience with JMeter and/or BlazeMeter for load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing
- 5 years of experience with Selenium for test automation and regression testing
- Proven experience in test case design, test script development, test execution, and results analysis
- Strong understanding of application performance metrics, bottleneck identification, and performance tuning
- Experience analyzing JVM, application server, database, and infrastructure performance
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Desired skills: - 1 year of experience using GitHub Copilot, Devin, or other AI-assisted development/testing tools (AI Agents)
- Experience testing and validating applications for ADA (Accessibility) compliance
- 1 year of experience with Playwright for modern web application automation
- 1 year of experience writing and optimizing SQL Server queries for test data preparation, validation, and performance analysis
- Knowledge of application monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, or similar platforms
Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
