Role Overview
We are seeking skilled data, analytics, and reporting audit professionals for a data analyst role supporting a large, global bank. This position focuses on testing controls around existing ETL processes, performing data quality assessments, and supporting data governance initiatives. The role is centered on analyzing and validating existing data processes rather than developing new data pipelines or performing data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Test controls around existing ETL processes and data transformations.
- Perform data quality assessments and support data governance and control testing.
- Validate existing data processes rather than building new ones.
- Audit data management systems, data processing solutions, and data consumption processes.
- Audit data processing code written in languages such as Python and SQL.
- Audit reporting and analytics solutions from a derived data, data cube, and ad-hoc analytics perspective.
- Audit data lineage as it flows through various data systems.
- Document control testing outcomes and clearly explain findings.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 7 or more years in auditing data, data processing, and reporting/analytics systems. This position requires experience querying databases and validating data.
Technical Skills: Advanced SQL skills are required, with the ability to write complex queries independently. A strong understanding of the ETL lifecycle, data transformations, data quality testing, and control validation is necessary.
Soft Skills: Strong communication and writing skills are necessary, particularly for creating audit documents that conform to client standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services or banking industry.
- Consent order or issue validation experience.
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes.
- Technical proficiency in Python or Alteryx.
- Familiarity with data quality automation.
