Job Summary
Caterpillar is seeking an experienced Java Lead Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of next-generation digital platform solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, cloud experience with AWS, and proven leadership experience managing geographically distributed teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in Java application design and development.
3+ years of experience leading geographically distributed development teams.
Strong expertise in Java 17 and backend application development.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services.
Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
IAM
Kinesis
DynamoDB
API Gateway/API Stack
SQS
SNS
KMS
Strong SQL and database querying skills.
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of designing high-availability, scalable, and reliable systems.
Exposure to solution architecture and system design.
