Description
The client is seeking four contract Network Technicians to support the network infrastructure conversion of its recently acquired Clarksville hospital. The project involves migrating the facility from the legacy CHS network environment to the client's enterprise network infrastructure as part of a broader hospital systems integration initiative. This is a short-term, high-visibility project with a critical "big bang" network cutover scheduled for October 2-3.
The consultants will work alongside the Network Services team to deploy Cisco switching infrastructure, assist with network migration activities, support cutover execution, and provide post-migration troubleshooting. Approximately 120 Cisco switches are being deployed as part of the conversion effort.

1. Network Troubleshooting (Layer 1 & Layer 2)
Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, verify physical connections, identify port/VLAN mismatches, and support users during a large-scale network migration.
Will be applied during switch deployment, overnight cutover activities, and post-migration troubleshooting.
Success factors: Strong troubleshooting mindset, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure during a critical cutover.
2. Cisco Switching Knowledge
Experience working with Cisco switches, including reading switchport configurations, verifying connectivity, and supporting switch deployments.
Will be used to install, configure, and validate approximately 120 Cisco switches being deployed throughout the hospital.
Success factors: Hands-on switch support experience and understanding of basic network operations.
3. VLAN & Network Infrastructure Fundamentals
Understanding of VLANs, port assignments, network segmentation, and general networking concepts.
Will be applied when migrating connections from legacy infrastructure to the new network.
Success factors: Ability to follow documented processes and accurately validate network connectivity.
4. Network Deployment & Physical Infrastructure Support
Experience racking and stacking equipment, installing network hardware, tracing and moving cabling, and working in data closets.
Will be responsible for physically migrating network connections and supporting switch installations prior to cutover.
Success factors: Comfortable performing hands-on technical work and working in fast-paced project environments.
5. Professional Communication & Team Collaboration
Ability to work closely with network engineers, follow direction, and professionally interact with hospital staff when needed.
Will be paired with the client's network team members throughout the project.
Success factors: Reliability, professionalism, adaptability, and ability to work effectively during a high-visibility migration.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
2-3+ years of hands-on network support experience preferred.
Candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong networking fundamentals and troubleshooting abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CompTIA Network+ certification preferred; CCNA is a plus but not required.
Basic understanding of wireless networking concepts and access point connectivity preferred.
Experience supporting network deployments, site migrations, infrastructure refreshes, or large-scale technology rollouts is highly desirable.
Prior experience working with Cisco Catalyst switching environments is preferred.
Healthcare experience is a plus but not required. Candidates from other industries will be considered if they possess strong networking fundamentals and hands-on troubleshooting experience.
Bachelor's degree is not required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
