Job Details
We're looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined Overhead Door & Dock Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial overhead doors, dock levelers, dock restraints, dock shelters, and dock seals.
Whether you're an experienced dock equipment technician or someone with strong mechanical, construction, installation, electrical, or service experience looking to grow into the trade, we'd like to talk with you. We provide training and support for candidates who have the right attitude, work ethic, and mechanical aptitude.
What You'll Do
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair overhead doors, dock levelers, dock restraints, dock shelters, dock seals, and related equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and structural issues
Complete preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and safety
Respond to customer service calls professionally and efficiently
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and installation drawings
Perform adjustments, repairs, and component replacements using hand tools and power tools
Maintain accurate service documentation and work orders
Communicate findings and recommendations to customers
Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards
Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects safely and on schedule
What We're Looking For
Ideal Experience
Experience with overhead doors, dock equipment, loading dock systems, material handling equipment, gates, access control systems, or industrial equipment
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural systems
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Experience with troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and maintenance work
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience with dock equipment, overhead doors, construction, maintenance, service, or mechanical installations
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
Knowledge of welding, fabrication, electrical systems, hydraulics, or locksmithing is a plus
Ability to safely lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
