The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance has a full-time vacancy for a Supervisor of Systems Planning - Civil Engineer VI.
SUMMARY:
To formulate and administer statewide transportation policies in the Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 11 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Combination of education and experience with concentration in civil engineering and business administration.
License/Certification:
1. Professional Engineer (PE) License with designation in Civil or Civil Highway Engineering.
2. Valid driver's license.
Other Requirements: Applicant's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the hiring agency.

AFTER-HIRE REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a NH Professional Engineer license within 12 months of hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
DETAILED TASKS (STANDARD): None
DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC):
Oversees the activities between the Department and the nine regional planning agencies, to ensure a coordinated statewide transportation planning effort is implemented as mandated under federal regulations.
Administers the collection and analysis of statewide data to inform the development of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), Ten Year Plan, Long Range Transportation Plan and other related planning efforts and documents.
Oversees the activities of the GIS Section of the Bureau with other bureaus that also feed data to and from GIS, including pavement, bridge, traffic, operations data, etc.
Coordinates information sharing with other bureaus and work groups including the Asset Management, Performance and Strategies (AMPS) Workgroup, Commissioner's office and others that rely on information produced from the GIS section of Planning.
Advises the Bureau Administrator, Commissioners and Directors through special assignments and committee work in matters establishing department and division policy and programs.
Represents the Department at public meetings, hearings and discussions with public officials, private individuals and other agencies to present, receive and evaluate information related to planning and project related efforts.
Oversees the development of the State's Ten Year Transportation Plan as mandated under state law and oversees the development of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), Long Range Transportation Plan and other related planning efforts and documents as mandated under federal regulations.
Coordinates and reviews planning studies conducted by consultants and regional planning agencies.
