Job DetailsResponsibilities:
As a Mechanical CAD Designer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Designing and drafting detailed mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
2. Developing and optimizing machine designs and plant layouts for heavy manufacturing processes.
3. Working closely with engineers and other team members to create and modify designs based on project requirements.
4. Utilizing your expertise in sheet metal fabrication, machining, and welding to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and meet all necessary specifications and regulations.
5. Producing accurate and detailed 2D and 3D models, assembly drawings, and bill of materials.
6. Participating in design reviews and providing technical input to improve product quality and efficiency.
7. Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during the manufacturing process.
8. Continuously staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and CAD tools to enhance design efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical CAD design, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
4. Extensive experience in designing and drafting mechanical components and assemblies, including machine design, plant layout, and heavy manufacturing.
5. In-depth knowledge of various manufacturing processes and materials, especially steel and sheet metal.
6. Familiarity with machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
8. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work under tight deadlines.
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
10. A proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving design-related issues.
