Duties/Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for supporting the development, validation, and continuous improvement of propulsion-related electronic hardware systems. The engineer will perform full-cycle electrical hardware design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, design modifications, and board bring-up using Altium or similar tools. They will conduct root cause investigations of field and manufacturing failures, perform worst-case and derating analyses, support hardware and software integration efforts, and collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product reliability and scalability. The position requires working across analog, digital, and power electronics, including motor drivers, solenoid drivers, sensors, microcontrollers, and embedded systems. The engineer will also support design verification and qualification testing activities, analyze test results, implement corrective actions, and ensure products meet performance, reliability, and environmental requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Skills:
Full-cycle PCB design experience including schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, debugging, and implementing design changes in Altium.
Strong analog electronics background with experience working with sensors, op amps, comparators, signal conditioning, pressure sensors, and temperature sensors.
Power electronics experience involving motor drivers, solenoid drivers, H-bridges, MOSFETs, gate drivers, buck converters, boost converters, and other low-to-moderate power circuits.
Experience troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis on hardware failures, including failure reproduction, corrective actions, and validation of fixes.
Ability to support the entire product development lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, design, verification, qualification testing, manufacturing support, and hardware/software integration.
Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and team fit, including knowledge of analog, digital, and embedded systems, coachability, collaboration skills, and a low-ego attitude.
Preferred Skills:
Strong PCB design experience, including schematic capture, layout, board bring-up, and troubleshooting.
Experience with analog and power electronics, including sensors, motor drivers, solenoid drivers, MOSFETs, and power conversion circuits.
Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools (Cadence, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics).
Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, testing, debugging, and product validation activities.
Strong electrical engineering fundamentals with experience supporting products through the full development lifecycle in a collaborative engineering environment.
