- You will have delegated approval signature authority responsibilities for batteries and Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS) from the NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) for Batteries and Battery Monitoring Systems.
- You will conduct technical analyses, develop technical products and prepare related technical correspondence for the Ships; reviewing and providing recommendations all technical products.
- You will interface with all personnel within NAVSEA, NAVSEA field activities, private shipyards, and associated contractors on the behalf of the TWH.
- You will be responsible for the adjudication of requests for clarification, interpretation, or assistance; non-conformance, deviation, waivers, departures from specifications, and applicable Naval Advisories.
- You will be responsible for building national leadership in Undersea Power and Energy Systems, develop strategic plans, develop engineering and tasking, assign programmatic tasking, and develop programmatic cost estimates and statements of work.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
FOR 1301:A. Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
OR
B. Have a combination of education and experience with education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
FOR 1501:A. Successful completion of bachelor's or higher degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science.
OR
B. Have a combination of experience and education achieved from courses equivalent to a major field of study in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
FOR 1515:A. Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in operations research.
OR
B. Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
FOR 1550:
A. Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in computer science.
OR
B. Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of these 30 semester hours were in a combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
