Job Title: Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) Engineer
Location: Irving, TX (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months
ROLE SUMMARY:
We are looking for a hands-on Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) Engineer who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact on customer engagement initiatives. Operating within a marketing technology team, this individual will design, configure, and deploy multi-channel customer journeys and campaigns using Adobe Journey Optimizer Ultimate, Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), and Adobe Campaign translating business requirements into scalable, data-driven solutions. Success in this role means owning end-to-end journey builds from day one, demonstrating strong email deliverability expertise, and continuously optimizing audience segmentation and activation workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, configure, and deploy end-to-end customer journeys in Adobe Journey Optimizer Ultimate, including event-based triggers, audience-based entry conditions, branching logic, wait steps, and frequency rules.
- Own email deliverability strategy managing sender reputation, bounce handling, suppression lists, IP warm-up plans, feedback loops, and inbox placement monitoring.
- Build and manage multi-channel customer experiences across email, push notifications, SMS, and in-app channels, ensuring consistent personalization at scale.
- Construct and activate audience segments and schemas within Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Real-Time CDP using behavioral, transactional, and profile data.
- Develop reusable content templates, dynamic content blocks, and offer decisioning logic using AJO's decisioning engine.
- Execute campaign operations in Adobe Campaign, coordinating batch and triggered delivery in conjunction with AJO journeys for a unified engagement strategy.
- Maintain and troubleshoot XDM schemas, identity stitching, data ingestion pipelines, and profile qualification for journey execution.
- Monitor journey and campaign performance, conduct A/B testing, and deliver continuous optimization recommendations to marketing and technology stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience in marketing automation or customer engagement platforms, with specifically in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
- Proven expertise in email deliverability including domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), sender reputation management, and deliverability troubleshooting.
- Solid experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) including XDM schema design, segmentation, identity management, and data ingestion (batch and streaming).
- Experience building audiences and configuring activation workflows in AEP Real-Time CDP.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS for email template development; SQL skills for data validation and audience analysis.
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and deliver production-ready solutions with minimal ramp-up time.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Deep experience building complex, multi-step journeys and large-scale audience models in AEP, AJO Ultimate, and Adobe Campaign in a production setting.
- Adobe Certified Professional or Expert certification in AJO, AEP, or Real-Time CDP.
- Familiarity with Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Adobe Analytics, or Adobe Target for cross-solution reporting and optimization.
- Experience with data governance, consent management frameworks, and regulatory compliance (GDPR/CAN-SPAM/CCPA).
