We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Backend Lead to drive the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale backend platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in building scalable microservices, event-driven systems, and batch-processing applications while ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. This role requires deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Spring Batch, Apache Airflow, Autosys, AWS, and Kubernetes, along with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade backend solutions.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to backend engineering teams.
- Establish development standards, coding best practices, and architectural governance.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality software delivery.
Solution Architecture
- Design and implement scalable microservices architectures using Java and Spring Boot.
- Drive adoption of cloud-native and event-driven architectural patterns.
- Define integration strategies, API standards, and system interoperability frameworks.
Event-Driven Systems
- Architect and oversee implementation of Apache Kafka-based event streaming platforms.
- Design asynchronous communication frameworks and real-time event processing solutions.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance of distributed systems.
Batch Processing & Workflow Orchestration
- Lead development of large-scale Spring Batch applications for business-critical processing.
- Design and manage workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow and Autosys.
- Oversee ETL pipelines, job scheduling, dependency management, and workload optimization.
- Ensure timely execution and monitoring of enterprise batch workloads.
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Drive deployment and management of applications on AWS EKS and Kubernetes environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, Business Analysts, and Operations teams.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership teams.
Performance & Reliability
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for production incidents and critical system issues.
- Establish monitoring, observability, and performance optimization strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system resilience and operational excellence.
